On Saturday, October 1st, I’m joining my fellow Vincentians at Belle Isle for the 15th Annual Detroit Friends Walk. This is my 7th year participating at this event. We come from Catholic churches all across the Detroit areanwalking together to raise money to help those in need of assistance with rent, prescriptions, food, clothing, utilities, etc. This walk provides funding for local Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) Conferences and Councils. Funds raised from this event remains local, allowing local SVdP Conferences/Councils to provide emergency assistance to those in need, regardless of race, origin, religion, or gender.
All donations are welcome and most appreciated!
The Friends of the Poor® Walk is a national event coordinated by the Development Team at the National Council of the United States Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
