Outdoor Mass begins at 9:00AM on the South lawn of the Y Log Lodge, bring lawn chairs.  Walker registration is from 10:00AM to 10:30AM.  The Walk begins at 10:30AM just outside the Lodge.  This event is hosted by Rockford SVDP Conferences of St. Rita, Holy Family, St. Bridget, St. James and the Cathedral of St. Peter.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) is a world-wide, nonprofit organization serving the poor, the suffering, and the deprived.  The annual SVDP Rockford Friends of the Poor Walk is held to bring awareness to issues surrounding poverty in our community and nationally. 

Walker registration is free, but please consider making a goodwill donation to support SVDP programs.  Donations of $25 or more receive a T-shirt, which can be picked up at the event.  All proceeds raised through the Walk will directly benefit people in need living in Winnebago County.  There are no administrative fees associated with this event.  

 

The Friends of the Poor® Walk is a national event coordinated by the Development Team at the National Council of the United States Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
